Looks like that one hurt a bit

It's kind of fun when you end up photographing the same animals over several trips. This guy is particularly identifiable.

It was supposed to be sunny!

This deer seems to be protesting the rainfall. That or the idiot with his jacket covering his lens and camera because he had left his rain bags in the car. It’s hard to tell.

    Eating in the Rain

I forgot my rain bag, so my jacket got pressed into service. :)

I was talking to some more local photographers and they said that this guy has had the injury for several years. It heals over partially throughout the year and he reopens it during the rut. He was walking on it just fine while I was watching.

    Stay on Target

This young deer really knows what it's about and no phototrapher is going to take it off task. Tasty greens!

  • Missed it!

    Missed it!

I thought frogs were the ones that went for flies? This young deer was licking its chops on the lake trail around Radnor Lake in Nashville, TN.

The small little bits of velvet are so cute on this young button buck. :)

  • Drying Off

    Drying Off

It was a relatively bright and rainy day. I'm starting to really like days like that for wildlife photography. So many different opportunities.

    Catching Up

Momma had moved off to the left. This little fawn felt the need to catch up. :)

    Changing Seasons

Clearly this one is from a few weeks ago. I hadn't gotten to photograph one shedding his velvet before. The other two that were with this guy hadn't even started yet.

    Low Hanging Leaves

In today's episode of deer or giraffe. :) Another nightly walk at Radnor Lake with dad. Some days there are more rewarding than others, but you always see something. :)
